Born in Austin, Texas
I live in The Woodlands, Texas with my family
Decades of consistent study as an internal medicine physician and terrific new tools help me stay abreast of “consensus opinion” – the orthodox, “best practices” that evolve from clinical trials, publications, peer review and replication.
In a year, I go through over 200 journals and newsletters, strive to get 200 hours of “formal” continuing medical education and read deeply on patient problems with a tool called “Up to Date”. This differs from traditional texts in that it is continuously updated online and unlimited space allows these expert authors to not only give more detail but, importantly, to describe exactly the approach they take in practice – a feature long missing from paper textbooks.
When using a concierge medical practice, you have to pay a fee up front for services in order to have a relationship with the physician like those I have with my patients. As a private care physician, I do not charge for services I have not performed while still being able to spend more time with my patients.
